Hi, I'm a student from Ireland and I'm trying to get started on building a shredder. I was delighted to pick up this motor for a really cheap price. I couldn't let it pass.. but it came without a gearbox and I've been having trouble finding one that will work with this motor. I called a gearbox supplier in the UK and they told me I would not be able to connect one of their gearboxes (like this) to this type of motor, because it has no place to attach to on the front faceplate, ie. no screw holes (like this one) and I would need to find another motor designed to be attached to a gearbox. So, a few questions in case anyone with more knowledge can help: Is there another type of gearbox I could look for that could work? Would it be possible to modify my motor in order to connect a gearbox? Is there another way I could reduce the speed, like a pulley system? Am I missing something, or is it likely I'll need to find another motor? I'm open to any suggestions at this point, as I'm just getting started and still looking into the feasibility of different options! Thanks for reading, Odhran :)
