Hi guys!
This is Lore&Miguel from Precious Plastic Gran Canaria (Canary Islands, Spain) and we have developed a new product that can transform tons of waste into art ;)

Some weeks ago we posted on instagram (https://www.instagram.com/preciousplasticgc/) our new product: Mosaic Tiles! We called it 'PIXEL ART' and, together with some students from Proyecto ARBol (https://www.proyectoarbol.org) , we intend to create a mural made exclusively by shredded and injected plastic from unusable writing instruments, such as pens. As we live in an islands, this is a huge problem. Since 2015 they have collected 2.5 tons of this kind of waste, but each year 50 tons are sold just in the Canary Islands... :(

We are now looking forwards to participating in GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS as `THE WORLD LARGEST MURAL FROM WRITING RECYCLED MATERIAL´ in our aim to encourage the recycling of writing elements in the world. After several attempts we still haven’t received a favorable reply...and this is the reason why we are writing you, as a community: we have the certainty that with Precious Plastic’s support, Guinness would reconsider its decision.

We already have the collaboration of important organisms such as Terrecycle. the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the Government of the Canary Islands, but your help would be greatly appreciated.

The mural, with a total of 70m2, has been designed by students of the Engineering and Industrial Design Degree of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and will consist of 12.480 pieces that would be assembled by 120 participants. This event will take place on March 13th, 2020.

For any clarification or more information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards.

Miguel & Loreto,

Precious Plastic Gran Canaria Team
