one of the problems i find with the small blocks is that your wifi, 2g-3g-4g and bluetooth.all need a lardge antenna for better singnal.the antennas could be placed in the sides of the mother board.one on either side and they could share the signal.

Putting them beside the mother board will not affect the signal… the concept of this phone is to be modular and also it’s on the user where they would want to place those blocks.. also wifi, 2g-3g-4g and bluetooth have each own block so that they could function better,… that’s alll. 🙂

py point is not so that every phone has all those options.the average length of a phone antenna is 30-50MM (and a antenna is universal)making blocks this lenght would take alot of space.

The antenna can be curved and shaped to fit in a smaller space.

Yes but still not the space you want your blocks to be (2×2 studs) and a antenna is (1×5 studs)The studs is just an idea

An easy solution would be to integrate the antenna into the screen module instead.

Antenna should not be located any place by end user otherwise mobile performance would turn crappy for no reason to end-user and many complaints could be raised. I don’t know any manufacturer having antenna in a display as the antenna is mostly unique to a formfactor to improve the performance.

the chart you show is unfortunately a very bad design despite you have this hairy guy in front. This is iPhone4 which is famous for in hand perf issues I mentioned. Please refer to a better design and specially the picture in http://www.anandtech.com/show/6747/htc-one-review/15. You will see why this design is better: top and down are mostly never covered by hands and top bottom is better when you browse (uses up) or when you call (use bottom if head attenuates too much top)

If you can’t see it.. We are thinking exactly the same thing :)Ofcourse the design will be a bit different from any normal phone. But some of the people where thinking that the antennas could just be placed in the blocks.Thats why I suggested it should be placed inside. The mother board.Happy new year!
