Base board requirements

Heads up: this is just me thinking out loud for the minute, though you’re welcome to pitch in with your own ideas, improvements and answers to the questions I may ask.
In essence, what the phone needs is a baseboard capable of running the core components of a computer; processor, RAM and a small internal hard drive (give that 8GB of space)
After that it’s just a matter of a) modifying the operating system so that it works with multiple bloks (secondary processor, secondary RAM system, extended hard drive, screen) and setting out guidelines to ensure all baseboards and blocks are compatible with each other. (bonus points if multiple companies can make the blocks and baseboards, it’s better for pricing)
I know that there’s program built in to Windows which lets you turn an external USB drive into extra RAM;
1. Does anyone know what it is called?
2. Does anyone know if it would be possible to either find a similar program to run a second external processor or build said program?
Okay, the system Microsoft uses is developed in-house and is called ReadyBoost. There are alternatives out there, I’m currently taking a look at a system called eBoostr, though straight off the bat it costs some $30-$40, so it’s probably a good idea to have it installed as standard and factor the cost into the price of the baseboard, provided it isn’t a yearly subscription fee. Then they’d probably have to be bought out to eliminate said fee.
CPU wise, it’s just a matter of having the drivers optimised so that it can run the all of the processor cores in tandem, then you can increase the number of CPU cores to your heart’s content. There would have to be one specific driver type however, the CPU isn’t exactly a component which can constantly fail is it?
With regard to the modularity aspect, it’s probably a good idea to look at the USB system, and set up some software so that it can be easily worked with, or just get a clone of the USB software itself and work with that. Something similar to USB-C perhaps?
