Density of plastic shreds (PET, PP, EPHD…)

Hello everyone,

I am currently trying to estimate the space i should have to store my shreds : do you know what is the density at the output of the shredder for each plastic (PET, PP, EPHD…) ?

Thanks in advance 🙂

This week i tried 2 matertials in the shredder:
PP 2.5 kg per hour
PS 4.0 kg per hour

This is with standard settings, so if you change the RPM of the motor or the size of the filter than you might get different outputs

Hi Jerry,

Thank you very much for your reply. Actually I am not looking for the capacity of the shredder machine : I would like to know the density of the shreds produced by the machine. Basically, which quantity/weight of shreds can you put in a box a 10cm3 for example ? Do you know the size of the shreds for each plastic you tried ?

I am especially interested in PET.

Hope you have the answer, have a nice day 🙂

a 5 liter box roughly stores 2.5 kg PET

Yes, it´s a bit less cause the density is lower but the size of the flakes are the same.
