Upcycle plastic to make "faux leather"

Hello everybody!
I have recently been trying to find ways of turning plastic bottles into materials that can then be used to make bags etc, like a sort of “faux leather”. If any body has any ideas or insight into how to do this, or if you know of anybody who is already doing it, it would be great to chat to you!
