@leebarnard I dont believe someone have done the shredder in standard (I may be wrong) and yes there is a Imperial file somewhere but nobody has ever confirmed building it successfully

@benismobile Yes those are Solid quotes I have also contacted the company directly and confirm the prices, this way we Wont have any misunderstanding

@bchang thank you for the interest, We are finishing the last touches with @samsmith and the company to start the orders next week if we could.

@albercook there is a standard file somewhere but like a said nobody has ever confirmed building it successfully . If you happen to test it and build it..Now that would make a huge impact

@lesir The company under quoted @Samsmith Sam by mistake, this is the reason why I contact them to ensure a firm price. They have confirmed the last prices posted

@albercook If you can get us a better prince on the shredder parts since you are having access to the CNC machine we would love to see that and also CNC machined molds! if you can have some molds made up for us it would help the community a lot!

And regarding your question about getting the part of steel

I know it would be cheaper but with the time and moisture the parts will get rust and that will contaminate the plastic.

@morrentrading thank you offering us these awesome shredders they look awesome! I have a few questions for you.

1. The shredder you advertise in your website goes for € 595 is that correct? How for us is €275? and that price does not include shipping

2.Your price is great and very competitive. Unfortunately the shipping cost would be extremely high since is over seas it would vary from $200-$300 which defeat the purpose of us trying to get the best price for our community here in USA. 🙁

Shipping from Canada to USA is probably way cheaper than Holland to USA 😉

The shredder of 275, is a complete shredder at LAX parts. You still grinding and assembly / weld and assemble them yourself. This price can I apply if I can make at least 25 shredders at once hence the entry list.
The shipping costs to the US are about € 120, = a shredder.

The shredder of € 595, = has been completed by me trimmed and assembled into a functioning shredder.
Can I possibly only supply the stainless steel shaft.

@dreek00 I’m sorry for not mentioning this until now, but it may help interested folks on the fence in committing if there was more initiative regarding full disclosure to provide the name and contact information of the company at this point. I know it chances that some newly arriving to this thread would decide to go it solo to get a shredder unit outside of the group purchase, but it may also help folks who’re weary of parting with so much money to a stranger. If it’s possible to provide a viewable transcript of your email exchange with the company it would belay any potential concerns people might have.

I agree with @benismobile. I am undertaking this build for a business, and to do so, I need receipts for everything. With that, I need to pay direct to supplier.

Also, having read through the thread, it is hard to tell if this supplier has been used before. I know the metric/imperial differences cause issues, and I’d be more confident buying a proven unit.

I am located in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

Hey Andre,

I’ve just emailed you with the formal quote from my local metal supply manufacturer, if we can get 10 people I’ve been quoted $289.74/machine parts.

After doing quick research into shipping from here in Kentucky, it looks as though the parts will weigh 107 lbs/package – this was approx $106 USD to major US cities.

I’d be happy to share this quote with the group, however one thing the Sales Rep for the company did say is that he would prefer the transaction to go through one person so he doesn’t have multiple people contacting him to set this up. But i’d be happy to pass that on to someone else who wants to be key contact to verify all the details for this group buy.

@willhanrahan Will I just emailed you, great job finding this company! Unfortunately I will not pursue the Group Buy due to the lack of response on the money part.

Grant @grantrecycle was the only person who got back to me following the instructions and sending the money which I refunded. Grant thank you for taking the time to pick up my phone call it was nice to talk to you and thank you for understanding the situation.

@chadiator and @benismobile Thank you for your input guys!. However, Will and I share the same reason of not disclosing the main contact we should assign a key person. At this point the position for “Key Person” is open to anyone who is committed and responsible. Also, Your concerns are valid if anyone would need to know special information I would kindly provide it via email.

To the rest of the community: I apologize to all of you, I honestly tried my best researching, organizing, calling, creating forms and spreadsheets.

I placed my order for my shredder at $400 which I will get in 2 weeks

@dreek00 These things happen. Good luck with your shredder and put together a Photo journal development/progress thread when you get the time. Also, if possible, could you edit your first posting in the thread. Nothing major, just put together a google doc with the fabricators and their contact information. Let us suffer through the solo purchase struggles and organize bulk orders with like minded people in our respective areas.
