Using alternative oven

Could I melt plastic using an oven for Vitrofusion o Ceramics?
Or even a fire-sourced type, such as a sun-dried brick oven? Or a hole in the ground?
I see plastic needs to reach 150-300 ºC
Is there any risk in using the same oven?

Making sure that it never gets to hot is one thing.
Ceramics ovens can get VERY hot, so the risk of using temperatures that are to high seems a plausible risk.
