For the first project of my 3rd year, the students are free to construct their own brief, and I came across a video of Precious Plastics on Facebook and was really inspired by it. I decided to focus on public seating in a square left by the Dutch in Jakarta. My project was mentioned by Design Daily, please do read the full story here:

that looks amazing. this project also further answers the question of what all day-to-day things can be made from Precious Plastic machines.
Just a question: the plastic sheet is around 1500mm x 500 mm, how did you manage to make this huge sheet?
hey thanks! I was about to make it my self but it was quite impossible to do without a machine. I got the sheet from my friend’s dad. Was about to make 250mm x 250mm square tiles however didn’t have enough time to make it due to the deadline. Would love to eventually produce my own plastic sheet if I can!
Cool idea, im from Indonesia too, lets say i can help you build the machine that can produce a huge sheet? Let me know your answer, pls email me to [email protected]
This is good, if every nations turn their waste to eco-friendly products such as furniture or other household materials, maybe we can end up our problems in our environment, no overfilling of waste lands, no garbage in our ocean and for sure this idea can even change our life and perspective. If only proper funding for this kind of projects are being discuss about, this can be a big deal for every one of us. Although there are nation that has been growing sustainable because of the contribution and innovation out from waste products. To name few, Singapore and Thailand are one of those that supports such idea. If we can only do our part and support such activity, then we will no longer be heading to implement a global campaign such as “two degree” campaign, “climate change convention” and other entities towards protecting our earth, as everything perhaps starts from ourselves.
Regards.
