Hi guys

I’m Istvan, one of the helpers in the V4 team currently working with food, waste management and administrative taskts. But in my spare time i’m also here to learn the craft.
During Dutch design week this year we had the chance to meet talented creators from our community like Diti @Thela design, Aniol /Mark @talleresferica doing sunglasses, Jivan from Zelenew @greendaddy Ukraine making baskets and so on.

During his stay with us, Jivan made a presentation for us with his technique on how to make beautiful baskets and i feel that it’s important to share this with you guys on the forums.

Key things to remeber in your attempt to replicate his process:

¤  Use HDPE only
¤  Use a custom nozzle. the idea is that you drill a small hole through a standard star head screw and insert that into your big nozzle. ( remember to tighten these parts very firmly together, otherwise due to pressure the nozzle can fly out with high velocity and hurt you). The picture below is only to give and idea.
¤ Wrap cotton textile around your mold as shown in the video, this helps the plastic to stay in place and makes the handling easier.
¤ Try to make the process as streamlined as possible, that way you can stay seated and keep working, using a mirror above the plastic holder, long pipe,  a pedal for speed regulation and temp. controllers in reach close to the nozzle, are all things that Jivan from Zelenew is using to create the baskets we all see on the Bazar.

To sum it all up: good luck in replicating the process,I believe what Jivan is doing is handcraft, might seem easy to replicate but in reality it’s a lot harder than it looks like. If you do take on the challenge please share your results with us in the forums. Questions are more than welcome.
