Topic Tag: Extrusion torque

Hi Dave, I am looking at assembling the bits for the extruder, and was aware from the videos that to produce beams required a higher torque than to produce filament. My question is, if I have a motor that can produce enough torque to produce a beam, can this also be used for filament, or would it produce too much compression? Basically do I need to make another extruder or can one machine be capable of both. Cheers Simon
