Any experience using a smoker to melt plastic?

Hi everyone. I’m super new to this. From my understanding, plastic usually melts at 120-130 C, and that is about the same temperature as a smoker. And smokers generally have much finer controls compared to standard ovens, so, in theory, a smoker could be an ideal method of melting the plastic. Does anyone have any actual experience here? Smokers are reasonably cheap, so I may just buy one for that purpose, but I wanted to see if anyone has tried this already.
The melting points are a little higher than that http://polymerdatabase.com/polymer%20physics/Polymer%20Tm%20C.html . If I put plastic in our smoker I’d be sleeping out on the patio. Though buying one just for ribs is highly encouraged.
