Hello we are trying to assemble the shredder but we are missing some tools and was wondering if anyone knows a well equipped workspace we could use for a day to do it. Thanks

Hello, the guy who sells this product:

is from UK and he will be able to help you.
Access that page and send him a message.

Good luck

Thanks for the recommendation! I’m actually already in touch with Bogusha and helping her with some parts for the shredder. I’m a little way outside London though.

Hi Andy, good enough. Glad to be of help.
We are in Homestead – FL -USA and also In São Bernardo – Brazil.
Regarding the Shredder, i think the blades must be upgraded because some thicker bottles will get stuck and the motor stalled. Perhaps a more traditional setup with 2 shafts with a number of smaller blades in each one and a little more space in between them would be able to catch the bigger bottles and shred them to smaller pieces, then a simple shredder like this one: https://www.amazon.com/MC1800-R-18-sheet-Micro-cut-Shredder-Silver/dp/B071SDK944 installed below the main shredder mechanism would do the micro cutting. It is kind of a Dr. Frankenstein’s thing but it might work with the proper adjustments.
Is your shredder working with the bigger thicker bottles?

Best Regards

Hi Bogusha,

Did you find somewhere to assemble your machine? Where will you be running it from? I’m a member of the Institute of Making…
…and I think we should make one too! It would be great to hear how you’re getting on!

Depending on what you need, UCL’s Institute of Making (instituteofmaking.org.uk) could potentially help!

You need to become a member which I am planning on doing.

Feel free to get in touch.

I have maker friends in London with workshop space in Hackney. They are also actively involved in plastic themed projects. In addition to that they are artists / metal workers and will be able to put your frame together for a reasonable cost if you don’t have access to a welder.

Contact Felicity Jones, Blacksmith, https://www.felicityjonesmetal.com/ with workshop in Hackney.

Is there any update on this?

I live in Hackney Wick and would like to do my bit on the recycling side of things and also see who has a machine and who would like to build one and potentially get a shipping container too…
