Well what do you think about making the phone look more attractive Anyways, coming straight to the topic, I think that a back panel to hide all the blocks, their joints and the symbols on it that will make the phone look more attractive!

But customization makes that thing kind of impossible , i.e. Different people may put different bloks in different places , that would make it impossible to have a back cover having all the symbols on it according to where you place the blog and which book you place . How do I know this ? Had similar idea and got opinions from others , ๐Ÿ™‚ btw any help you need , ask me cuz I’m an Indian too ๐Ÿ˜€

You could make the back easily detachable, so it could curve round the front fractionally like some iPhone cases. This would give it good looks the ability to change the back and also customise it.

shortcomings should be emphasized, and certainly not to hide, that’s the trick

if you use the lid as you say, the phone will be even thicker, and it is already very thick

What if the back cover somehow consisted of rearrangeable panels? Not just small, square panels, but rather 3 or 4 larger rectangles covering the width of the device, with the exception of one slightly shorter panel not to obstruct the camera. Here’s an extremely crude diagram I made:

Chemkitt.. That wouldn’t be much of a use either… Because , as the camera size grows…the hole in the cover needs to grow too .. So , best thing is try to make the bloks themselves sturdier and no need any back covers..

So , best thing is try to make the bloks themselves sturdier and no need any back covers.. That’s what I thought too. But it could possibly be solved by having different sizes of panels that you can adjust accordingly. But I think having sturdier blocks is a really good idea. Especially if they were made of that rubber-y, non-glossy material which I don’t remember the name of.. And even so, if it *does* happen to fall on the ground and break, it wouldn’t matter as much as it does with other phones.

Speaking of individual parts, there should be a “blok doctor” you can use to check the condition of each block, so you know when they are broken.

Umm chemkitt m there’s already a topic about the ‘blok doctor’ . Like , there’s a diagnose app in ur comp , and in all bases there’s a USB port .. So if u connect the phone to the comp , the app will diagnose the problem in and of the blok and notify you ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m not sure if the magnetism would have a bad effect on the hardware or not, though.. But if doesn’t, I hope it would be just the right kind of magnetism, that holds it in place but lets you easily take it on or off :3

Was announced by the idea that to make a panel like the iPhone, but it’s pretty hard to constantly run to the service center to Specialists remove the back cover in order to replace the unit.My idea is to put a transparent flip case for so you can always see what unit you have installed. And it’s so easy that it would not close the camera, but when you need to change the unit could simply withdraw case, then it is also easy to attach, but it needs some kind of material that the cover did not fall off after prolonged use.

Great idea ๐Ÿ˜€ that is what I mean..I think the back of the case is made from a hard plastic or scratch resistant glass, and the rear is made from rubber-like plastic or something like that.. I don’t Know what’s the name ๐Ÿ˜€

So , best thing is try to make the bloks themselves sturdier and no need any back covers.. Yeah, I found this same thing out just now xD Good idea about the bloks. Also, I just realized, if we had the bloks plug in like lego, then it would be impossible to remove a blok in the middle of the phone without having to remove the bloks around it. This would be kind of an inconvenience. So, I think the sliding in bloks concept idea from Motorola would be a better general route to go. But with that idea, we would need more slots, and of different sizes. But… then that is hard… :/ lol

Yeah DJ Hamilton..there are two similar views here.. Phonebloks , for replacing parts and CUSTOMIZATION , whereas Motorola Ara is only replacing parts… Now that’s what they are working on and yeah removing bloks in middle would be inconvenient . Btw , are covers really needed ? Maybe they are , for style and all , and I think I’ve got an idea to make a simple flip case for phonebloks without interfering with the camera and it doesn’t depend upon the camera size at all either..I’ll try to get some picsto explain in my next post .

Here it is ! A double sided flip case ! Tadaaa ! Lol . So , one thing I forgot to add is a space for the front camera..anything I forgot ?mBtw it’s just a rough model .so whenever you want to use camera , you can open the back side and vice versa.

Why cover the bloks. The Idea of the PhoneBloks are to easily update and reduse phone wastage. Adding a back pannel would create more waste overall seeing as how if we do this it could be easily broken more than any other part of the phone.

Umm , I share your thought, but what I have designed is a cover , like all phones have one to keep safe from scratches when not in use . I didn’t make a back cover , I made a case to be exact , a phone case .

I dont think making it closed will make it more atrackttive i mean the bloks will be cooler the bloks r the main idea of the phone.
