(C2H4)n. Can it pass in gas phase without burning?

That’s what I get when google chemistry.

Can it pass in gas phase without burning?

I’d like to re-refine it so I can get transparent polymer at some level.

Yes you can do it by depolymerization. The best way, in my opnion, is using UV light. Sorry for my english.

Thanks Mareclozp, I thought so but was not sure how, UV fine for me, relatively easy to test.

But the effect will be the oposite. Sorry for my english.
If you want transparent you will need virgin material and fast cooling process

Thanks,

ok,

so transparent = virgin material.

Is little hard to explain in english to me.
Plastics aren’t painted as metals part. There is a product mixed with original polymer that changes it color and you can’t extract then.

Hello Marcelo, can you please explain briefly in portuguese?

Sim.

When it comes to color plastics changing process occurs by mixing a pigment before processing the material in a extruder or injection in most cases. Therefore the material acquires color and chemical linkage occurs between molecules and plastic pigment, so that they can not be separated.

when it comes to virgin material it tends to be translucent as water bottles. But to be injected, it should be abruptly cooled to room temperature to prevent crystallization. Crystallization is a molecular ordering process which makes the material to become opaque.

You had the idea to decrease the size of the molecule. This, besides the decrease of mechanical properties, make it impossible processing.

Assim,

Hi Guys, I know this is easier for you. But could you do it in english? In this way others (like me) can learn from it as well. And i’m quite curious!

I’ll try to post in both languages ok?

EN: Yes, but you’ll need to heat and reprocess all the material breaking chemical bond

Perfect! –Thanks a lot

@davehakkens

I can write a little guide about polymers, but I will need help translating it. If you help send me an email [email protected]

@marcelozp sound interesting! If you are, try to make it as simple and easy as possible so everyone (even with basic english) can understand.

Perhaps you can help out in this area but I see you already found that topic 🙂

@marcelozp, I’m Brazilian and I can help you out with the translation. Give me a shout when you get the Portuguese version done.

Kind regards,
Lincoln
