Can the shredder handle t-shirt material?

04/04/2018 at 23:42

Hi all!
We are running a little community project, turning pre-loved t-shirts into bags which we give away for free to encourage people to ditch the single use plastic shopping bag.
By now we have accumulated heaps of off-cuts and are reluctant to just biff them (ie them going in the landfill).
Would the shredder be able to handle t-shirt off-cuts? this way we could use the shredded material as stuffing for crafty projects.
Any thoughts?
Thanks:)

Hi Keva. The simple short answer would be no. Cloth would be like plastic bags. It will just wrap around the shredder shaft and blades. You need a simple flat bladed cutting system that is super sharp to cut both materials.
