Choosing motor for extruder

Hi PP army.
we are now building an extruder and like many posts pointed out we are on the choosing motor saga…
We use a 26 auger drill and a precision cut pipe with 3 mm external diameter.
Since there is not big need for high torque we plan to go with a 0.5 HP single phase with a reducer going down to 35 RPM.
Any ideas/proposal/thumbs up or down?
Best,
ALx
Hey! I have been searching the forum for this, and concluded that you could use a smaller motor (then a 2kW), I will also use a 0.4-0.5kW motor for my extruder.
Hey there ashrak,
cool. I will buy it today and will cost roughly 120-130 euros including the reducer…
Let’s stay in contact 🙂
Best,
ALx
