We are researching how to recycle plastic labeled of PC + ABS – FR (40) on some of the parts a small message appears GE Resin. We have encountered this plastic in the following product types CRT Monitors, Laser, Ink Jet Printers, LCD Flat Panels.
Our Goal is to work with ABS plastic to create a Filament suitable for 3D printing.
Any help on how this plastic may be used, melting points and additional properties would be appreciated.
I have found this document that explains HP’S methodology in labeling the plastic: http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/globalcitizenship/environment/pdf/plasticmarkspec.pdf
This document explains the melting point but does not included the Flame Retardant component that has been added the the plastic.

Not sure how how to put the information together to know if the polymer is suitable for standard ABS ?
