can anyone help me work out what printers are made from?

It’s usually different… tho it may be ABS, PC, PS, HIPS, POM
Usually it will have a code looking like this >code here<

Do you mean home inkjet printer plastic housings? Its normally ABS, but you can just take apart the printer and look for the symbol that identifies the type of plastic. I have opened a few printers and they always have these tags somewhere inside of the housing.
