We gave a workshop in the Spinnerei in Leipzig during the exhibition “Neue Urbane Produktion”. It was the first time we used the Extruder, which works with a Extrusion coil, we casted form brass. (More about this in another topic).
We extruded round sticks of plasic with a mold made of an extruded seamless aluminium-tube, so we got a very smooth, almost industrial-like surface.
We then took those sticks, wrapped 3 of them in a in a plastic bandage and brought them in position . so that they buildt one corner of the stool…
We did this several times for each corner, until we finally had a stable stool, that can be taken apart.
Those rods look really good. Are you seeing any voids? Have you cut one up to see if there are any internal voids?
Great work, thanks for sharing.
You first extruded the black parts, and they will just slide out of the grey sockets you extruded over the top? What material is it, HDPE?
There are no Voids inside, We used a fitted plug to hold back the material,
