External Applications & UV
There is lots of talk on these forums about creating products for external applications (decking, bricks, chairs etc.) When collecting plastic on beaches and on the side of the road the plastic have turned brittle due to the UV exposure.
Has anyone exposed their projects to the sun over a long period of time and seen these symptoms?
Can these symptoms be avoided by choosing a different type of plastic, ie. PP (My plastic garden chair has stayed strong for years in the sun!)
Is this a symptom that only affects thin plastics, can increasing the thickness withstand a longer period (20+ yrs)?
Should we also be worried about warping of products left in the sun?
Any experience in this area would be much appreciated.
