#GiveSeaLifeAHand – @givesealifeahand Instagram
Hi, my name is Tomás and I challenge you to give Sea Life a hand!
It’s simple. By collecting (plastic) waste and displaying it in the shape of a hand you can make part of it 😊
Making a hand out of (plastic) waste for the #GiveSeaLifeAHand Instagram movement has two meanings:
– “Give a hand” from the act of “helping out”;
– “Give” Sea Life literally a hand. The majority of Sea Life creatures have fins or wings, instead of hands. Our hands are great tools to collect the (plastic) waste we caused in the first place.
With small consistent steps YOU and I can solve this mega issue, called #PlasticSoup, with our own hands.
You can make a #GiveSeaLifeAHand wherever you find (plastic) waste. It can be at a beach, riverbanks, in the woods or in a city. With some “help” of wind gusts and water streams, (plastic) waste will sooner or later ALWAYS find its way to the Oceans. So, it does not matter where you live, you can always give sea life a hand!
I am pleased to say that so far, the #GiveSeaLifeAHand movement has received 82 hands from 42 different countries spread across 6 continents.
Ultimately, my goal is to have a #GiveSeaLifeAHand hand from every country on Planet Earth and in the process showcase how simple it is to collect someone else’s waste. Also, I want to emphasise that collecting (plastic) waste is the “easy” part, not creating it in the first place is the difficult one. While we all continue cleaning up, we must be aware that reducing our plastic usage to a minimum in the first place is key to solve this problem for once and for all.
Looking forward to your #GiveSeaLifeAHand hands!!
P.S.- Please don’t forget to tag and add @givesealifeahand Instagram page in your pictures’ description.
