Looking for manufacturer – recycled accessories

Hi,
I share the vision of this community to stop plastic waste and fight for a better environment. I would like to create accessories made from recycled plastic and at the same time clean the oceans. Does anyone know of manufacturers who can create this at a larger scale? Or someone wanting to collab that has more technical skills? I come from a fashion management background.
Many thanks
Natalia from Sweden
Hi Natalie,
Did you get anywhere with this? We would like to chat if this is still of interest.
DUN
Recycle Rebuild have also the capacity to make products in high volumes from beach collected plastic. PM me if you need help.
Thanks,
Rory
Hi,
Thank you for your replies. I will DM you as I am still looking for solutions.

Have you ever heard of 4Ocean? They sell bracelets made from ocean plastic and the money from each sale removes a pound of waste. They seem like great company. Maybe look into their process?
4Ocean.com
Hi @mandelina780 – welcome to the forum.
Just thought I’d put some numbers on the 4Ocean operation.
They are selling bracelets for $20 – and each one pays for one pound of plastic to be removed from the sea. The bracelets are made from recycled glass beads (probaly not from the sea – as glass isn’t really an ocean problem) and a recycled polyester thread (doesn’t say it is from ocean PET, so probaly isn’t). They say they have retrieved over 4,790,000 lbs of plastic since 2017. Sounds a lot! That means they have taken in over $95.8 million. Definitely a lot – to retrieve 2.17 thousand tonnes of plastic, over 2 years. Sounds good – but for nearly $100 million?
To add some perspective, plastic is entering the ocean at between 4.8 and 12.7 million tonnes per year. If they are pulling out around a 1000 tonnes a year, then that is an average of 0.01% of the amount entering – for around $50 milion per year. Does that sound like good value?
I wondered if the company was a non-profit – but it seems not – as they say they have “partnered with a non-profit” who actually does the work. So what work do 4Ocean do, apart from paying YouTube to regularly run their adverts? And how much of that $50 million per year are they keeping?
Call me an old cynic (because I am), but that just soundslike a bunch of people making money out of honest people’s concerns and fears about ocean polution 🙁
I should have known it would be too good to be true. Thank you for your insight…. but please let me know if you know of any legit support efforts.
I found this article on products made from ocean plastic.
Perhaps you could find some recycled resin pellets made from ocean plastic and have an accessories manufacture make your line from them.
