Masks

Hi,

I’ve read a few posts where people recommend wearing masks while melting the plastic…what kind of masks do you mean? Is a simple activated carbon mask like this enough? https://www.amazon.com/AMSTON-10-pack-Charcoal-Masks-NIOSH-Certified/dp/B075Y2WFH3/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1519677027&sr=8-2-spons&keywords=activated%2Bcarbon%2Bmask&th=1

The masks all seem to have different ratings…I imagine we would want the P95 because it’s for oil-based particles?

Thanks,
Paige

Well, for the shredder I would guess that you should use a particle filter, and for the extruder, injector and compressor I think you should use a gas filter. I would recommend using a half mask (thats what I am using).

Something like this;
Halfmask
And filters;
Particle filter
Gas filter

But you could just use good ventilation with most of the termoplastics..
