Material for moulds

08/07/2019 at 14:57

Hey there,
I am looking for a solid material for moulds that should be used several times (quite often, actually). Right now, I am considering aluminium, but have no experiences with it so far. Any suggestion/ opinion/ experience would be very appreciated!!
Best regards!

What kind of tools do you have (access to) and/ or how much are you willing to spend..
You could CNC your design into a block of aluminium or cast a mould in some way.
It also depends on the complexity of the design, otherwise maybe even wood or sheet steel could be used for simple moulds.

And then there is silcone moulding, but I have to yet try that for myself on a larger batch run, I did some test in silicone chocolate/muffin moulds that seemed to work though
