Melt plastic on site

19/04/2018 at 18:41

My first post.
Does anyone have some ideas on how to melt down plastic on site (beaches)?
It’s all kind of plastic. Can I use a kettle and a gas burner? Can I melt it so I can pour it into some molds?

I don’t think there is anything really portable that would fit your needs. You could try scaling down the mold injection machine and bring a generator along with you but that seems like a lot of work. As side note through some research of my own I don’t think you can pour plastic into a mold the way you would like molten metal. I think HDPE, LDPE, and PET don’t turn into a liquid it is more like a viscous solid or a putty when heated.
