My final Precious Plastic Aluminium Shredder

29/07/2016 at 10:33

Hi everybody, at the end of May I ask if someone already have built a plastic shredder with aluminum blade, or if it is possible. After that I try it myself here in Cambodia, and now I have my aluminum shredder.

Because my aluminum sheets are not very flat I was forced to have space between the blades. But at the end it’s working.

I have done a video of my shredder construction:

wow never seen an aluminum version before! Pretty cool you tried it out, does it shred properly? And well done on the documentation video 👌

Can we have your location so we can pin you on the map?

Thanks @davehakkens! The shredding is no perfect due to the space between blades. It just takes more time to have small plastic pieces.

wow. great work!
I think one thing you can do to improve the shredding is also the configuration of the blades. Try to put them in a real spiral instead of in a block of 3-5 elements.
We had done that mistake at the beginning, and when we changed them to spiral it started to shred beautifully (until we found the next 200 mistakes 😉 )
