Plastic to practice on.

13/03/2017 at 00:18

Hi there

This is an idea that will not actually help reduce the amount of plastic – but then again it’s biodegradable.

It’s great for prototyping and can help you decide if your design ideas might work with other plastics.
Not to mention – if you only wanna make a few things for fun. 🙂

The plastic is called “Polycaprolactone” – it melts and act like a putty/clay at only 60C and can be reused more or less indefinitely as long as it’s not kept wet(then it starts to biodegrade). You only need a glass of hot water and possibly some gloves to try it out.
Since plastic is light, you should get a good feel for it with 100 grams or so, you can get it at amazon, ebay, craft shops etc.

It’s the same plastic they are selling at a huge markup over here – https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/braeon/braeon-worlds-strongest-and-most-adaptable-materia/description
