Hey, my name is Rory, I previously worked for a large international disaster response non-profit until I decided to found my own charity last month called Recycle Rebuild.

Recycle Rebuild is a UK based SCIO registered charity that empowers communities to recycle waste into affordable, high-quality building materials, whilst providing an immediate source of income for those affected by natural disasters.

Our long-term goal is to set up recycling centres immediately after natural disasters. In Dominica, they lost all their homes, lively hoods and recycling centre due to hurricane Maria. Dominica is acting as our pilot, where we aim to recycle the waste plastic that litters the landscape such as water bottles (aid and non-aid related) tarpaulin that has since past its 6 month use period and convert this waste into long-term building materials to aid in this country recovery.

We are a small team of volunteers and we are rapidly growing due to a grant from Rotary Club. I am posting in this forum to spread the word about our work but also invite the Precious Plastic community to be involved in any way possible.  We need your support for brainstorming new ideas, growing the organisation, saving costs (by preventing duplication of work) and designing new items for the recovery post-disaster.
