Recycling plastic from the slums of Manila

Hello there!
My name is Sacha, I’m currently volunteering in an NGO called LP4Y in Tondo, Manila.
We provide the youths of the slums there (For me, for the slums of Tondo, Manila) a 9-months professional training so that the youths here can find a decent job, enabling them to get themselves out of poverty.
50% of our time is dedicated to running a micro-business, and I have recently received approval to create one based on plastic recycling, hence why I ended up here hehe.
For the first product we will sell to the community here, we want to start with something simple: a plate + fork and spoon pack.
We have already done deals with the scavengers from the slums (people sorting out garbages) to buy watched plastics.
My questions are numerous, but here are the most important ones:
– How hard and how scalable the plate could be to make?
– How many machines would need to used to have a fair production rate?
– How much plastic would need to be used and which type? Considering that we can only buy PETE and HDPE plastics.
Thanks a lot!!!
Sacha
