Hello…
This is my first Art project using HDPE Plastic..(bags)
It was alot of fun and will not be my last!!!!!!
Hey Nick
Actually I made it look like this…
With curve and I didn’t really want it flat down…
So I guess it looks warped…
Ummmmm …No it is not burned….
The black red and yellow are the colurs of the bags (I used 50 bags)
Also there is a lot of depth but can’t really see it in the picture…
I will try and get a better picture of this….
I will post the process soon..
Belinda
Hi Guys
….This is what you will need….
1. 50 plastic grocery bags
2. parchment paper or aluminum foil
3. heat gun
4. iron
5. thick gloves
….PROCESS….
1.Make 5 piles of bags.
2. Lay parchment down.
3. Lay 10 bags down flat on top of each other the best you can.
4. Cover with parchment on top.
5. Set iron on high.
6. Iron until they stay together.
Don’t over iron the bags.( 30 sec or less)
Don’t iron the handles of the bags.
7. Repeat 4 more times.
8. Give the top and bottom of the bags 30 sec more , all over.
9. Cut off the handles.
With the heat gun.melt the edges where the handles were.
10. This is where you get creative.
Start at any area you like.
Holding the heat gun over it,you will see the bags under are not completely melted.Continue until melted.
11. Repeat and make your own design.
12. If you see words or something you don’t like, just melt more or use a toothpick.
….It is all up to you…
13. Paint canvas and seal.
14. Using 5 min epoxy attach your creation to the canvas.
Cover, add weight .5 mins later your done.If anyone has any questions please ask.
….Have fun….
