Request: Help on building precious plastic machine

06/01/2020 at 15:01

Dear community,
we really would like to build the precious plastic machines with young people during our job orientation camps in Germany. The problem is that we never built one before, so it would be awesome to have some support for 1-2 days. The camp will take place in July 2020 near Cologne. If you’re interested and need more information, please let me know!
Best wishes,
Jenny

@jewie104 Anytime
I also found several people near Wuppertal in the Bazar, you might want to contact them as well

Dear xxxolivierxxx ,

thank you for your answers and your advise! I already wrote some people that I found on the map near us but I thought, it could be useful to also write here 🙂

Best wishes,

Jenny

Dear xxxolivierxxx,
thank you for your quick response! We didn’t buy any parts yet because we wanted  first to make sure that someone can help us with building the machines. The thing is that we would like to build them together with our camp participants so that they can experience the process. That’s why just buying the machines wouldn’t work.
Best wishes,
Jenny

Hello @jewie104
Did you already obtain all the parts needed to build the machines or is that still pending? If you haven’t obtained any parts yet, I would recommend buying the machines from our Bazar
I would also recommend getting a dual axle shredder, or wait for the V4 shredder to be released this month.

@jewie104
Understood, just keep in mind that building the machines is not like playing with lego, you need to have knowledge on welding, metalworking, power tools, and if you are in charge of the camp, you will need to be accountable for any accidents (hope that never happens) that might occur if unskilled people get hurt during the build process.

Please have a look at the Precious Plastic Map, that’s the best place to find people near you who is willing to cooperate 🙂
