Separating PET and PVC

18/07/2019 at 11:51

Hello everyone,
A few questions about sorting PET and PVC.
1. Is it definitely required to separate the two if we are using the plastics to make small trinkets? Nothing will be consumed from them?
2. Is there any CHEAP experimental way to separate the two, if they are not labelled? We will not have access to a NIR machine. (We do however have access to a fluidised bed, mixers and tanks). Has anybody tried using floatation techniques or electrostatically separating the two? The experiment also needs to be ~relatively~ safe.
