Shredder ideas for home use

11/11/2018 at 19:44

Would a small chipper shredder (for wood) work for home shredding? I see some small units for 100$ or so that might work. Has anyone tried to use one?
I’ll continue to look for used machines to repurpose for starting my small part.

I tried my dad’s and no.  The plastic is too thin and goes through the machine without being cut our sits in the hoper area and doesn’t make contact with the blades.

There is a dangerous version mentioned here

I’ve seen people successfully do this in videos (I don’t think I saved them anywhere), so it probably depends on the exact sort of machine you’ve got as well as the plastic being used. If you go down this route, let us know!
