Styrofoam activate carbon
Sustainably clean water sourcing could be one road block. This made me think of a Ted talk about how a team took Polystyrene (a thermos Plastic) not commonly sought after and made activated carbon used for filtering watering into clean drinking water.
Sounds like a great idea, but I wonder if plastic particles won’t make their way into the filtered water.
Sound good but i have the same question maybe the chemicals can contaminate the water or maybe not, this can solve died a study to the water
Just like the currently accepted recycling method, It is too energy intensive due to shipping, melting, shipping, melting /reforming, and shipping. All for a cheap picture frame in the current method.
Enstyro Inc. was founded to solve the EPS problem and the solution is quite simple. Recycle local EPS into local concrete. Both exist almost everywhere and there are many benefits from many densities and uses of concrete.
EPS has amazing properties that we have simply failed to appreciate. The low density requires local solutions so the big money has neglected it. Visit http://www.enstyro.com and change the Styrofoam problem in your location.
HI! Anyone with the procedures of making building blocks from the Styrofoam. My trial are not giving any good results
Maybe this is useful in the styrofoam-to-activated carbon discussion: https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Alireza_Bazargan/publication/269097822_Porous_Carbons_from_Plastic_Waste/links/5820cd1408aeccc08af6610b/Porous-Carbons-from-Plastic-Waste.pdf?origin=publication_detail
Hi! We are developing a project to transform paper residues from the paper factories into activated carbon near Barcelona. It is used not only for filtering drinking water but also it is used to clean exhaust/toxic fumes and dirty water.
