Tinker Friday – What's inside my stuff

Tinker Friday is something I accidentally started on Instagram, I used to open up wasted products, every friday, products that were about to be thrown away, I collect these from friends and family, and I liked to check what’s inside, how the products work, think about why they ended up as trash and how could we minimize this. I used to share just photos of what’s inside each one, then I started doing characters out of them, then lil stopmotion stories. My three favorite videos:
More and more people got interested and liked seeing what I’ll come up with every week. It opened conversations about what we throw away, and I realised that not many people know what’s inside their even most used products. And I believe this might be one of the factors that makes us easily throw away things; we treat products as one whole object and not many parts, so we throw away one thing and not many. So I continued doing this, though as a product designer I hated being called an artist who makes cute things, I realised that maybe that’s my way of communicating an issue like e-waste to people who are not into sustainable living, who are not geeks or want to know what’s inside things.
I thought I’d make a story about my tinker stories, I never made one that explained how or why I am doing what I do.
Wow nice videos, they defenitly keep me interested! Would be great to see a thinker story, combined with those nice funny shorts you have a golden video 👌
