[USA] Will there be an OFFICIAL Imperial package included with the download???

I was wondering if there will ever be an OFFICIAL imperial package for [USA] users, I’ve seen so manny alterations, different files and people here in the forums that have been able to convert but nobody have proved those files actually worked (is all theory, I honestly gathered tons of different files or same files with different names which make it even more confusing for people who doesn’t have a way how to open the files) in addition, it would be awesome to include a quick “send to shop” folder with all dxfs files and PDFs needed to laser cut companies and get quotes.
Another idea would be including a 1″ knifes Hex holes dxfs with the package since the 27mm is impossible to find here in the US. I know someone converted the 27mm hex holes into a 1″ but have someone actually tried those dfxs? @davehakkens
Please let me know your comments guys
Regards,
Dre
There is a official 1″ hex rod conversion here: http://onearmy.world/community/forums/topic/shredder-modifications/
However the thickness is still in metric thickness. The real obstacle in getting the Shredder parts made in the USA. This link is blades only so you could work with a local metal shop and get it converted to the closest imperial thickness. You will have to build the box this way.
@snowpoff Thanks for the reply, I was referring to a full conversion package with the blades (in 1″ hole) and sheet sizes in imperial. Just wondering if there will be a package dedicated to imperial, this way would be easier to USA users and other countries Still using imperial.
What do you think about the “send to shop” folder idea?
*No, the 27mm hex bar is not impossible to find in US. Actually, I’m from Costa Rica, and I purchased my 27mm hex bar in US with free shipping for about 10 bucks. More info here: http://onearmy.world/community/forums/topic/where-to-source-your-parts-for-precious-plastic-machines-sorted-by-country/
*No, there is no official metric-units version of the Precious Plastic Shredder, @jibbajamba attemped to work on this project but I believe it was never completed, and I don’t have CAD knowledge to do the conversion myself. More info here: http://onearmy.world/community/forums/topic/plans-in-standard-units-not-metric/
*There is already a “send to shop” package of DXf Files:
For 1 inch hex bar: http://onearmy.world/community/forums/topic/shredder-modifications/
For 27mm hex bar: http://onearmy.world/community/forums/topic/shredder-dxf-laserfiles/
@dreek00 The 2 metal cutters I contacted just needed DXF files and PDFs for scaling.
If money isn’t an object and you REALLY want to build the Shredder in imperial both metal cutters I contacted offered a redesign service. If you send them all shredder box PDFs they should have a clear understanding of how it should all work and fit together. Obviously this will cost you a bit because of paying someone to redesign the Shredder box and make sure everything still works.
As someone else looking for American shredder parts I’ve seen you on quite a few other threads. Everyone finds different solutions. You seem very dead set on getting an Imperial conversion, but it’s looking like if that’s what you want you’ll have to make it yourself.
thank you guys! @snowpoff @xxxolivierxxx this info is great! just looking for an easier way for future members. FYI I am gathering quotes to different companies to start my shredder project next month.
This conversion problem has confused me on building the machines since they are metric.. I know imperial
