Hi all,
I am researching which types of plastic/methods might be best to pursue as I begin my journey into Precious Plastic and am curious to find out what has proven to work best for you? Any tips would be amazing.
Hi Britt32,
im using the type PP
it works fine and but the band heaters on my extruder need to be at quite a high temperature, because of that i need some way to insulate the pipe from the frame or pieces that hold the pipe steady and connect it to the frame.

Hi @peterdick,
Thank you.
I’m not sure if you have a way to insulate yet you didn’t say but my partner suggests using exhaust wrap for insulating the extrusion wand, or even ceramic wool to insulate it. Both can withstand high temperatures – he uses the ceramic wool for his 3D printer bed as it is not only flexible but can also be compacted to increase efficiency.
I hope this helps 🙂
