Wood Chipper = Shredder alternative?
Is it crazy to use a wood chipper as an alternative for the shredder? The results seem similar:

I’ve found a couple second hand on craigslist from 25$-400$. I think this is the route I’m going to go for my shredder and focus on one of the other machines now.
I like the idea.
Wouldn’t mind seeing it do all the other plastic stuff, not just the bottle caps.
Would be interesting to see how these woodchipers turn out.
Recyclingnthose machines makes sense, so i hope they dont break too easy and are easy to repair.
Also images of the inner work, and power usage figures may be interesting.
That one looks 10 times more expensive. Maybe do a bit of testing in the hardwarestore? Im sure those gear testing youtube blogers could have fun with this.
Would be nice to see how the low cost shredders perform with plastic bottles and blister packaging and also if the granulates are small enough.
Here’s another video of a chipper shredding a variety of childrens toys:
How durable is that?
Are spare parts easy available? (worldwide)
Can it shred bottles, buckets, jerrycans, etc.
Without knowing what’s going on on the inside it’s hard to tell if this is up to the task.
Maybe try to find a second hand one for half the price? (or less)
