It is not hard to produce. The mould is the key to produce it. If you are planing to produce custom make design, you should invest time to get a injection machine.

I think if you supplies it cheap, it will be useful to many builder who which to build their machine in low cost. Maybe you can categorise the item you have that related to the machine building and it cost. I believe people will come to you for it. Thing like motor will be top in the list where people are looking for it.

It still in primarily stage. The first stage is to gather like minded enthusiast to do get together to do brainstorming. Maybe gether online meting or coffee shop chat. The topic at the early stage will be how to run this Non profit organisation, How to gether the material, what roles can a volunteer participate in. How we get the initial funding.

I myself running a soho office developing new innovative product and own 3D printer. I however think we need a good ventilate workshop for people to “play” in it. I plan to approve secondary school and colleges to get participant for them to learn about important of recycling. I will design a lot of mould that can created by recycling plastic so they can bring home something they created and useful for them.

If you are interest to be a part of this initiative. Fell free to email me (danny.gan at ingotech.com.my) May be a short introduction about yourself and how would you like to help. Thank you.

Hi Mould Design Community,

I wanted to compile a Wiki list of mould provider/maker and alternative mould making method and and it estimated price and it location listed in the community. I myself researching the alternative affordable mould making material and method. I’m planing investing in a small CNC router.

@robksawyer
I tried to create a wiki account and it return Database error “A database query error has occurred. This may indicate a bug in the software.”

I think 1 step is to extrude it first since it the plastic bag is thin so it can melt and form a solid output where can be shredded. But maybe you need to adjust the extruder speed to have desire output.

By the way, how to create the plastic bag? I was thinking to recycle plastic bag into disposable dustbin bag.

I think the cost to ship to Indonesia almost same as ship to Malaysia. For Air freight(non motorize or electronic items) 4 days to Malaysia it only around USD3 per Kg. I am looking for a affordable shredder too. The cheapest I found so far is from http://filamaker.eu/shop/
@ramdhan2805 which CAD files did you get the quote for? I can try to get my supplier in China to quote for the price for 6 sets.

Can you try power your machine with alternative power such as solar power. I wonder how big the solar panel need to be in order to heat up the injection machine.

Hi,

I like your idea hope one day you can build a house out from it. I always imagine if only we can build house (for the homeless) from modular block where we can join each together like Lego we can build cheap home in just days. If you start this project, let me know …. good luck!
