However I think i prefer the direct extrusion to thread as shown on the third video.

All the same we need machine experts to give accurate dimensions so we can build.

Fibre can be spun into threads
The extrusion can be spun directly in to threads as shown in the video below.

I like this method even more.
I was about to build a compression machine but this has changed my mind completely. An extrusion machine is better.

Those stralght lines on which the electrodes are kept, is that what you call the heat coils?

Do they glow when the oven lights up?

IIf the do, then you can try the lower portion you spoke about.

That oven must have its heating elements at the top only and that is why the top of the plastic melts while the bottom doesn’t.

Try melting a flat layer of plastic to see how that plays.

I don’t think the oven is suitable for your purpose though, the heat is not surrounding the plastic mould, thats why it melts unevenly.

I think you can increase the diameter of the barrel or make a longer barrel (with more heating bands added) to increase the quantity of plastic you get at time.

You can easily measure your machines quantity by pouring oil in the barrel then press it all out into a bowl.

From your picture, it seems the button part melted alright but the top didn’t.

Can you show the oven heating coil position?

How is it that you can’t control the temperature, no PID CONTROLLER?

Hi, have you solved this problem yet?

I see you’re compressing outside your oven, at what temperature do you take the plastic out?

I think the particles might not be properly melted. Or its too cool by the time it rises to that level.

Try and polish your mould a little more also or use mould release.

Stop sounding like preciousplastic owes you anything.
They gave you a lot for free. Show them what you are doing so far and ask for help if you need any that’s what this forum is for.
You can make suggestions, NOT DEMANDS talk less of ACCUSATIONS.


P.S.: STOP TRYING TP BULLY YOUR WAY INTO THE TEAM. Bully are always useless in the end.  You say you have a work shop, show us youe products.

But first a word search tool, this will help new members find old solutions to their questions fast.

Am still trying to decide which machine to build (compression or injection).

II won’t be getting a shredder at the beginning, I will buy shredded materials from existing local collection centre’s that sell to large corporations already.

Some other persons would have built these machines and sold them all over the world, (that would have greatly reduced the appeal), but you gave it to us free!


You really don’t have to do more.. But if you do, we will be more grateful as you save us a lot in research costs.

FINALLY, here is an idea, iidea, saw a thread on making sheets for roofing in Vietnam (I can’t find it nnw), PERHAPS you can make a mould for a 48x12x1 inches, compressed or extruded. It should have Z edges for interlocking pieces. Each piece can be srewed down to the roof.

Let us focus on making things like buckets, bowls, cups, sausers, exotic trays, ply boards for furniture, side stools for sitting rooms, reading tables and other everyday living things. These should bring great value to our products. Thank you
