So, I was super inspired and always had a “plank” in mind so using your cool design as my muse I made this. The aim is to make planks for school desks in Tanzania. And get this, the local welder charged me $35 for this mould. I’m getting my large oven on Monday so I’ll post an update of how the casting goes if the first “Pamoja Plank”!

Edward started the topic Large Injection Mold in the forum General ideas and suggestions 2 years, 10 months ago
Hi team, I am looking to make a large injection mold (approx 300mm x 20mm x 20mm box and am looking for some advice on how to adapt the injection mold to fit.
I was considering a double injection i.e. 2 barrels, 1 hopper to avoid cooling of the plastic when it enters the mold. Has anyone had any experience with this technique?

Has anyone thought of making a double injection for larger molds? i.e. 2 barrels pushing plastic into the mold?

They say there are no stupid questions but I will test that theory..
How would you use a water heating element to heat the injection pipe? Would you rebend it around your pipe? I live in Tanzania and cannot find band heaters anywhere so I am looking for suitable alternatives to do the job and I know I can get hold of water heaters..! Any other…[Read more]
