Hi Plastic, have you seen guide

The voltage range on that motor is 230v to 400v so you would need to work out if you are able to run that at home.

@novaqui The crowbars I have had for a long time, I don’t think it would be cost effective to go out & buy a new one, someone also mentioned because they hardened steel you might encounter problems when getting someone to machine it.

Sorry I can’t be of more help, I’ve put my build on hold at the moment ๐Ÿ™‚

@davehakkens @paulfreed @robksawyer what can do is pin the other Sub categories under the main Machine Development topic to help bring a little bit of clarity/separation for the different machines. Short term solution

This question has been ask a few times now, the use of stainless steel is optional. As mentioned in the download kit

Regarding plastic blades, I have see a video on YouTube of a mini shredder built with plastic blades actually I think the whole shredder was 3D printed, a bit of a gimmick, it worked, however very limited in what it could shred. Just not practical ๐Ÿ™‚

No, it doesn’t appear that option is available at the moment. There is a plan to try & change the forum platform to help improve everything in a number of areas. https://davehakkens.nl/community/forums/topic/developers-needed-to-upgrade-the-community/

@davehakkens there is also this one that is free
http://www.simplemachines.org/

& here is a example of a forum that users it
http://forum.librepilot.org/index.php

Keep in mind there is other themes available, the libre site is not very attractive IMO
http://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/

Anyway I’m happy to have a play with all 3 & see witch one is maybe best suited to our needs. ๐Ÿ™‚

Absolutely! a sharing giving communities is what we want to here ๐Ÿ™‚

With my limited very short experience helping on the forums, I have become aware of a few people that have completed the Shredder, however all is quiet in regards to sharing back their builds and experience, I’m hoping that maybe they have had a few teething problems, once resolved will hear back from them.

Sorry, I’m not experiencing that issue, are you talking about this home page or the forum home page ?

The only time I have had everything load slow is when all my kids are home using the internet ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyhow I’ll keep a eye on it & see if anyone else is having issues.

Thanks for the heads up @uaneme

Hi, yes that mini shredder I have seen in a number of YouTube video’s & it looks very capable. I’m not sure if this video is produce by the creator of the design or its just someone taking advantage of the open licence to manufacture. However this guy has so many videos of that same type of shredder, shredding everything even a plastic poo, so many that I couldn’t be bothered counting them all.

Thank you all! So, I understand that the motor must include the apropriate ruduction mechanism. Is this mechanism also shown on the blueprints?

No there is not, would be good to have a design, that everone could make.

You can buy worm gearboxes of eBay, new & 2nd hand
