@vincep You can bend it with little-medium pressure if that’s what you want to know 😉
@plastikfantastik thanks! The clear piece is PP (mostly detergent packaging & Food Plastics) and is approx. 1mm thick. I did everything else like with the other sheets.

@geat thanks!
@plastikfantastik I don’t know 😀 But my tshirtpress currently can do 30-50kg of pressure (just an educated guess) but the 1ton a carjack can do will be enough!

@geat great! You’re welcome 😛
How many heaters did you use on that aluminium plate? How did you mount them? Weld?

Hi there @katharinaelleke !

Wonderful topic to work on!
Maybe also avoiding multiple posts on the same topic would be great. Or a separation between a knowledge base and sharing progress on projects 😀

All the best

@carmatic good idea, thanks for the input, however for 60x60cm one should be enough. We will weld it to one heated plate so it shouldn’t move a bit 😀

@geat @sonik

Yes, why not? We do everything with a Tshirt press itm ( click here ). The heating elements we ordered won’t help you much with a tshirt press I fear^^

@markbertbach Amazing drawings!

A,B,G:
I don’t think it’s a good idea to just take the processes of Iron processing and apply them 1:1 to plastic. But hey, you can always try it 😉

E is basically the compression process, should work.

H is basically the injection process, not sure that would work due to the large volume (you would need a looooooooooot of pressure to get it in the mold)

F is an interesting concept, worth a try! (Maybe start with a working 1:10 Model)

D is more or less what the community recently built (also our attempt)

C is basically the same as E right?

Overall, great brainstorming and documentation, however with most of these fulfilling the budget from your study will be hard.
Keep on researching and keep us updated please, this is a really great and information-rich topic!

@maximederuiter @fabirihotmail-com
Please use the search function to look for similar topics, this issue has been discussed dozens of times in the forums. Short answer: The torque of that specific motor is too low, the rpm too high. Please try to educate yourself with the detailed information given previousely.
Thanks.

@olivier Thanks, I hope so too 🙂
@ashrak Thank you for the feedback! I think I will do some calculations to cover the possibility of bending 🙂

@ahmednassar Since this topic has nothing to do with modular phones, i moved your topic to <precious plastic> – <machine development>.
Please make sure you post your topic in the right category. Thanks! 🙂

Salut @samichou !

Bises,
Flo

@carl Haha great idea! I agree that with printing the “stop printing crap”-sign you somehow . . . print crap (But I think that’s part of the idea too 😀 ) But it would be even better to have the reminder in a useful form. I’m not into 3D-printing but there are for sure a lot of possible uses (printed on the filament roll, in the program, on the printer itself, etc.)

Hi @carl ! Great to see you here now! 🙂
A big welcome from me to the forums!
Feel free to look around and also try the search function, a handy tool to find stuff you are looking for!
If you start a new topic please make sure the question etc. hasn’t been asked before and be sure to post it in the correct place (e.g. plastic topic not in the phonebloks category) so others can find it! 😉
Other than that, there’s no need to be shy, we are all friendly, enthusiastic plastic recyclers and open minded thikers 😀

Hi @markbertbach !

Really nice work you did there, I also really like the outcome of the survey, even though there were not soo many people participating. Since we’re in the process of building a plate press too, I’m very interested in this. Keep us updated!

Hi @perfectheart
Great idea! I would imagine, just get rid of most of the seats, mount your machines safely and think of an electric solution – you’re done! 🙂
Interesting project, keep us updated!
