Some update.

August :

We made the bike trip to see the sea and collect some plastic.

those who were connected in instagram knew we made a survey for http://www.oceaneye.org to map the pollution of the first river. Video comming soon in our website when we have the result.

septembre :

we continue our journey as usual, we create, we test, we fail, we start again and often it works!!!! photo below

Beyond the creation of objects, we particularly like the collaboration with other workspace. It’s hard to summarize all the meetings, but they’re all awesome. We have friends all over the world

Two years ago we were alone in Switzerland. Today the 7th workshop is under construction and every week questions are asked.

Our tool is ready for our little ride.

In August we connect the Geneva lake to the Mediterranean Sea. Just to see and understand.

814 km by bike along the Rhone to meet the PP workshops.

We take this opportunity to test 2 tools.

Precious Collect is an open source littering measure application. We developp with Hammerdirt.

Who I hope if all goes well, maybe shared to the community at the end of 2018.

Second tool comming soon!

Teasing story inspired by @mattia-io 😉

Big Update June 2018 !

The post of @mattia-io on the map made me feel guilty because I am not so active on the forum since the workshop is running. So I’m correcting that 🙂

Our target for Precious Plastic Léman (PPL) :

Raise awareness / Act locally / act globally / Reduce

We chose Lake Geneva, the largest lake in Europe, and the Rhône River to act locally. Our objective is to reduce the quantity of micro plastic that enters into Mediterranean.

On August 13 we leave for 1 month of bicycle to meet the actors and workshop PP along the Rhone (800km).

We will do micro plastic surveys with two tools. One is for test the Hammerdirt.ch application and the second is intended for http://www.oceaneye.org using manta net. The idea is to place a marker on the plastics of Lake Geneva and see if there are any down 500 km further.

Act locally :

We have for objective to build 3 kits intended for eco district and protect workshop in our area. The plan is to open our workshop to designers as soon as we have the finances for the local.

Act globaly :

We try to put a national strategy to assist all construction workshops in the country. For the moment collaborations are underway with PP Zurich and PP Basel (who have started a project with @StamPro from Greece for a workshop in a migrant center) We help as much as we can with our knowledge and contact.

We are also setting up a collaboration with @Johébruno which should be ready by November 2018. We want to build 1 container by the end of the year for a north-south project. (probably a west – est Europ Europe)

We have different pilot projects on fire ! 🙂

Application

https://mylittleplasticfootprint.org

We search solution for make a V2 and more localy. Try it there and spread it, it’s really good.

Application to quantify littering

http://www.hammerdirt.ch/

The solution is sought to establish a protocol for user and disseminate it at the maximum as we can. In Switzerland we have more than 1000 littering readings and the figures allow us to understand many phenomena.

Shot of a Bag:

Reducing at source is also an objective. We have a pilot project with a shop that gave plastic bags to customers (5000 per month) With the PP label, the shop receives a PP sticker and an explanation from our association. We sell biodegradable bags and ask the shop to charge 20.- ct to customers. that brings to 1000 bags a month

http://www.preciousplasticleman.ch still in construction

Hello,

I search a post in the forum who speak about cold plastic in te nozzle.

How you extract your spinning top from the mould per exampl and how you clean the nozzle ? I’m close to broke my mould at each try…..

Juste a question about the air who there are inside the mould, where it go when we inject plastic ???

I take any tips because it’s a lot of try for small result at the moment … 🙂

Thank’s

Hahaha @sonik ! You are probably one guy who try to sell shirt on the bazar… Right ?

Yea T-shirt press and it’s not a joke. I stole some material in industry who are not ethical. without press = no print = less shirt sold 😉

My shredder come from a chicken farm who shred babies chicken 😉

Best topic ever !!!!! More for the discussion who result than the subject but next post from the community will be really interesting.
Thank’s @jegor-m !

My vision is a little bit different of you. I totally agree what @andyn say. But in one side, you put the project of dave in question…

I was one of this guy thing about it’s really easy and the tool of precious plastic have many possibilities.

I don’t want put all my opinion i should be to have 2 hours for make this post.

I understand why you say this. And i’m little bit confus because i’m right in it ! I make small stuff but for a different reason.

I thing the question you open need an answer from all workspace. Then we can studie the impact and wich reel utilisation the people make with the P.P Project.

Have you 50’000 euro ? we can ask for a LCA at https://quantis-intl.com/

But just for start, i’would like to say something. Same if the LCA ( Life Impact analyse) of P.P. is bad, dave show something really big !

Communication is the first key and he saw a positiv communication have real impact ! To much turtle with a straw in the nozzle, to much stomac of bird with. The only result of this one result people enter in denial process and forget about thinking about the problem.

Yea we can analys the story of P.P for many hours ! @andyn make a really good analys but there are some good result behind the bullshit stuff who append like…. Sell T-shirt per example….

I really enjoy the day of we organized the G8 of P.P. some where in europe !

Cheers

@pe-trhlinka
I think you paid more for redesign and build it than you order one of Precious plastic official.
I look for long time, better price with less transport shipping and the result was to order one at Dave and the crew

@armbouhali mmmmh, i don’t really understand what you say but should be a good idea 😉

The small shop close to my flat gave behind 5000 and 6000 thousand plastic bags.

When they indroduce the taxe of 10 cents per sacs They divided by six the quantity of bag with less of thousand bags per month.

this 10 cents allows to buy bags a little bit more eco friendly…

Precious Plastic bring you where you would have never imagined. I met incredible people in four corners of the world, to discover things of existence of which I was unaware and yesterday one of its extraordinary days was that brought me in one of the last artisan of cow bell of the country.

For those who follow the bazaar and knows my love for the cotton and T-shirt, I would like to thank @klaus or @klaus-L for the idea!

I finally found my local sand of foundry
