@xxxolivierxxx All good; indeed PP has been going on the long run, people jumping in & out of projects..

Most of the french community is willing to relaunch a wiki system. Could we reinitiate the wiki process ? Though the work to link the intel from forum is INSANE, once it’ll be uptodate it’ll be quite “smooth” to add future info ?
i’ll create a new post w/ a poll link to see how the PP community feels about it

Peace,

Nick

@xxxolivierxxx hey, thanks for the kind respond; has the wiki been taken down voluntarly? a wiki would be amazing to go through all the precious-plastic related info more smoothly, don’t you think ?

Hey all, so I checked the linked Gdrive and the link to the wiki http://www.preciousplasticwiki.com website prompts this message “This domain has recently been listed in the marketplace. Please click here to inquire.”

Is the info backedup? Shouldn’t the website be re acquired? new web adress?
we neeed a wikiiiiii 😉

@halukyilmaz if i am correct (from recent experiences) is that you should do small sheets, that you then assemble with other sheets; 1 at a time. It will shrink, but the more layers you add, the less it will schrink.

Hey guys, so i’ve started sorting out my different plastics and in the PS zone I have quite a few expanded PS (mainly ice containers).
One of the guys i work w/ is a senegalese wood worker and already back then before coming to france, he would make glue that way.

Just in order to gather maximum different intell on the subject; what kind of dosage would you recommend for optimal glue (ratio kg os PSE/ liters of “diluant”)

Also, following someone here’s advice (so sorry can’t find the message again), i covered the pot where i mixed PSE & diluant with a plastic film, hopefully getting rid of air bubbles w/ this process.
Is there anything special to be aware of if willing to sell small quantités to craftsmen around my business?

Peace,
nick

Hey there,

Just trying to give my help here
I started using the blueprints in the toolkit to start modelizing the schredder in 3D using 3DS max.

As for the CAD Files, i found this site : http://beta.sharecad.org
which let’s you at least visualize what the file is

Here is one of the .iges files : http://beta.sharecad.org/viewer#87b6fb0f-24d1-43c8-b91e-fbfe47dbd5092040 (there is only one layer so don’t know if you can do much with it)

Here is for on of the .step format files : http://beta.sharecad.org/viewer#61cec36c-e574-40c7-9246-f73df0fedc562059

Seems like the site only supports .iges & .step formats

So it seems you have all needed info in the blueprints folder

Hope this helped,

Cheers !

Hey there,

I haven’t built the machine yet but from what i understand, you just change the “sieve” to whatever to adapt the output of the schredder

Meaning:
if you want big schreds of plastic output –> big holes
if you want little schreds of plastic output –> little holes

As the video says, it’s up to you and try out what you prefer !

peace

(hope my info is correct!)

Bonjour Christian,

A bientôt !

Nicolas

@matoha (btw thank you so much for all the work you are doing on the plastic analyzer machine !)

I’m sorry but you got me lost in your last linked youtube video. Your “big machine” as you say so shows there is no presnece of polycarbonate.

I know you are not an all-seeing-&-knowing god, but what happened there?
Was the monitor piece marked (by constructor) ABS PC? Or was just a supposition from @basman ?

I’m sorry to bother asking this but if the error comes from constructor; it might be verry missleading for DIY activists (until you release your baby open source hehe :p)

Anyways, thanks again for all your commitment to this project !

Peace,
Nick

For those out there interested in the idea :

In order to find users easier, i created a Discord server for the french PP community. I think it may help a lot if it were to be implemented country by country to launch collaborative projects !

Here is french one : https://discord.gg/SpVvKuf

Now embassadors, if your country has many active membres, do the same !

& thank u to all the community for ALL the work being (and to be) done !!!!!

Peace,

nick

I will be comentating the technical part when my knowledge en the matter is good enough,
All i have to say in the first point is WOW, your schredder seems to be doing the work !

I wonder though if your machine is not turning too quick ! (doesn’t it get a bit messy once the sieve is installed?)

Once again, congratz ! i’m so looking forward to build my own (or as part of a group) !

Peace,

Nick

Welcome to the revolutionnary group ! Indeed the link you used for your machine creation does not seem to be working.

Did you follow strictly the PP plans for the schredder or did you customize stuff?

I’m trying to group up french people around paris to start building them !

Peace, Nick
