my shredder is the Titan
I got mine for 20£ as it was second hand,
thickest I’ve put in is about 2mm ,
the design of the teeth is what causes issues
as it clogs due to the cutting action, however I never got around to sanding and polishing the blades , which will help ,
the RPM is around 80. I think which is alit…[Read more]
another idea to add to the mix ..
getting the slightly thinner 7ft wide containers with the higher 9ft height to fit snug on a lorry tailer which stays on the trailer…
the transport would mean using local lorry drivers from each place to deliver it to each destination?
or just covert a trailer itself, they can be…[Read more]
yes the motor/planet gearbox/electronics all come from the commercial product
its quick compact due to it being inline planetary, much the same as a cordless Drill..
maybe it starts out in a semi-permanent place ,like a dockside harbour/dry mooring… (or would need to acquired land somehow)
then when it gathers more interest and success, more people will be involved, more potential to move or have other setups…
if a council gave us 1000 square feet of land, which isn’t much of an ask TBH,
im definitely in, ive been needing to start something like this for some time, just im not really entrepreneur but il do what i can to help, shipping containers are the future, !!!
just need a community and we are away !
my skills and contribution,
i work as a technician in an art gallery at the moment, get two days off a week, so not…[Read more]
ive made a very frankenstein prototype, just to test the power,
had a go at clamping the large wheel with my hands+gloves … couldn’t stop it turning, so i know it’s got some torque..
i suppose it will be good until i damage the motor controls, then id have to find another treadmill….
its a good question , i think it needs examplafying to make it easier to understand how gearing and torque work with RPMs and horse power, somehow..
but in essence yes , gearing it down massively would work bit, however really slow speed means it will take longer to process plastic then cutting it with scissors…
don’t know if you…[Read more]
ahh thank you for the info
yeh this one isn’t fancy enough for that, i tried it all disassembled from its original form a few times just messing around and it goes without any error, even when have basically bypassed the motor that would control the slope of the treadmill, and it still goes, haha
this one rums on 230/40v i believe,…[Read more]
im beginning to build an extrusion machine, however before i do,
im wondering if anyone has built this in a similar way to how im planning ,
as im unsure if it will work in terms of power
the design is basically a Treadmill running machine motor and speed controller, with its original metal frame and mount. connected with a pulley and…[Read more]
for this id recommend injecting it with the extrusion machine,
you can make it out of 1inch box section in the pitchfork shape you want. and cut an entire face off, then weld
angle on to it all around the edge to create a surface that will allow a bolt on plate to fully enclose the injection mould. and then a make screw on…[Read more]
@andyn its only jammed a few times when i put 3 milk cartons together, which is kinda unnecessary,
or when i tried a thick Polypropylene jerry can pieces, which are about 4mm thick on the some parts,
the jaws have the original grub screws tightened agains a flat on the shaft, the bolts are just to keep them tight because they kept loosening,…[Read more]
