If there are  people now making new discovers like ( Linda Wang for Purdue University) where their proccesses lead to convert plastic into fuel more cleaner than in the past ( but still gasoline)  or companies making new types of bio-plastics ( for still producing plastics bottles difficult to recycle).  We will observe the  competition or  battle where  recycling waste into new objects vs- re-using plastic  for any form of  energy or even for other type of plastics,  will take the market faster than we expect.  Of course the matter of the air pollution/ zero carbon cities aim of the countries will not be approched. We need to make grow this market faster with alliances.

Hello Soumya! That’s great news! I hope we can have a factory like that in Mexico soon. In my country are not currently investing on recycling only in oil refinery. What’s your current strategy to build community? I’m interested in read your experiences , it is awesome to know more people taking the right steps.
Greetings! 🙂

I´m agree , but  I also think that this kind of iniciatives add more value to the plastic market and of course to the recycling too. So its not all good news but great marketing. Don´t you think? We need more people collecting plastics.

Hola Alex, mucho gusto!
I just came back , I was eating tacos and watching your video jaja !! I’m so happy about your work, is a positive initiative against so many global issues. I’m also a fan of docu- series.
Two nights ago I was watching “consumer societies” Chapter #4 “recycling lies” In Netflix and I ended soo frustrated with the outcomes of their research.
And now with your excellent work I do know that is a fact, that people are more than willing to end this. Thank you! keep it going!

I ll put extra focus to attach the musical experience with the action of putting the garbage / plastics in its place.
Example 1. I saw a video a couple years ago about a group called ” Fun theory ” They successfully make attractive to people to put the garbage in its place, just by adding fun sounds. I share the link.

Example 2. I ‘ve been only in one concert that at the end it gives you for free the CD of the live music experience, this happened in 2010 “Viva la Vida Tour, Coldplay”  It was a CD that you can’t found in stores but you can download also. Of course today we don’t use CD but we have other sources as QR codes ( in Internet you can make it for free)
This two examples I hope can lead you to  an amazing idea to make attractive to  lots of people to do the right thing while they are having fun.
Greetings.

Hello everyone i read paciently every comment here.. this days i ve been reading by my own a lot about this topic.
it seems to me that everything you say its very well explain by the documentary ” consumer societies” in the episode # 4 ” reciclyng lie” you can watch it in Netflix.
Its updated information about the struggles , countries , companies  existing and involved… so you´re NOT alone is everywhere.
However..  Im starting to have the tesis that we need to make more attractive the recycling plastics even tho in this page we have all the starting punch ( machines, products, info etc.)  ,  collect plastic should be more attractive than money maybe as a bussiness model for trade for benefits as food or discounts. I was reading two days ago in this community about an idea of making an app to identify different plastics types i would add to that  … identify and trade for benefits.

Hello Jonathan nice to meet you.
I was having the same idea a couple weeks ago , and the only information i have so far its about a company based in Munich ” CCR Reverse Logistics Group” that has an APP called ” RLG Pick App” but it seems to me that only aims to collect and to share based on probabilty the characteristics of the plastics they administrate throw their conteiners.
If you can download and explain further i ll appreciate it cause of language barrers.
How ever … if right  now we can download an app for wine ( VIVINO) that only with a photo of the brand can tell you the features and recommendations of the flavor.  Maybe it can be reachable  joining forces to make a collaborated matrix of data based on brands / barcodes  open source to know further about our plastics bottles.
Greetings.
