Simon- We have built a shredder to run on @$v, and found a grunty motor from https://www.motiondynamics.com.au/12-24v-dc-worm-drive-geared-motor-375w-nmrv.html
Basically, it seems you need something about 2kW or jamming becomes a problem.

I have been looking for a non-welded tube too, and it seems there is a product called cold drawn seamless tube that fits the bill. The cheapest source I could find for small quantities was race car builders – it is the stuff they make roll cages out of.

Also – we have had a set of parts laser cut and ran into problems with insufficient tolerances in the design – needs about 0.2mm all round to avoid needing a press to put things together.…[Read more]
