thanks for the details @markriem, future readers will really appreciate this.
How is it going, did you encounter any trouble with complex moulds /objects ? Just asking since this variant seems appealing, ignoring needed power and injection speed, etc… (:-)
Please use the search function of the forum, eg ´business´ to find more information. From our experience with users: it might take years to actually create a business. Things can go faster and better when you have a network, contacts with the industry, otherwise, as said often : consider this a hobby (to stay safe).

@muzakkar, have you tried barrel insulation (helps a lot) and did you wait long enough before throwing plastic at it. a picture and some more details about your setup would help us a lot .. ! For v3-ish extruders you want to wait at least 15 mins, and go from slow (40RPM+) to faster speeds. Flake size also plays an important role, let us know …
@ayus2302 Welcome to PP.
yeah, detailed research and trial data is usually missing here in the project.
However, we´ve one of those on the bench right now. We have some more data in October for this design. Judging by the blade design, we agree, that could be more cutting edge. Problem is mostly that you can´t really combine well shredding an…[Read more]
Yeah, thanks to you too btw. – to us it seems we’re rather at the very beginning.
We understand for sure we have to increase yield, get client success stories but also recover lost momentum (20 – 30% traffic loss since v4), participation within the PP project itself but just on another ‘project’ or platform, with a community & opensource/ethics…[Read more]
We changed the cover picture in our profile and now our well visited pin disappeared, saying it’s needs moderation.
We heard from others that it can take weeks to have a pin approved, is that true ? What can we do to get it back fast ?
btw. – the map seems overly slow and laggy on some systems, despite glas fiber…[Read more]
finally, our 2 weeks (per year) vacation are on the doorstep and I am happy to look back 12 months.
I don’t consider working for PP exactly special, it became just a normal job after all, just with the usual extra efforts of being competitive and ahead as entrepreneur. However, I will just throw the numbers and some little…[Read more]
@robb Hey, how is it going ? Are you still active in these matters ?
Since the PP portfolio provides now a little more possibilities (sheetpress), I was wondering to give it a try. Is there any chance you could share your setup or files somehow ?
Sorry btw. for my deleted response last year 🙁 However, From what I´ve seen on the other…[Read more]
A 1000 – 2000 grid polish is doing alright too though – you can do this with a finger sander or grinding paper – manually – that’s good enough to send the screw to hard chrome plating / nitrating (recommended, not cheap) 🙂 read more about :

Happy put a cap on a year long topic, somebody did it 🙂
The actual article has been posted in full length and a nice list of research references here (or check hackaday). Unfortunately the files are still incomplete but I keep watching out for the rest and add it to the library.
The build involves several hundreds of dollars, 2-3 times the…[Read more]
we migrated most of old wiki/library content into a new system. There is still lots of work to be done but for now it’s good enough https://library.precious-plastic.org/machines/.

Hey everybody, we keep maintaining & documenting the new auto-reverse component together with the shredder & extrusion controller in the new library :https://library.precious-plastic.org/machines/hal.html
Furthermore, the auto-reverse is pretty simple now and you can apply this to any shredder but you can also use it to detect jamming for your…[Read more]
too bad, all this nice efforts and posts have been killed 🙁
I really miss the good and old flair of PP – it’s all gone – on Discord we have now just a tiny fraction of what has been contributed here in the forums – I wanna meet this guys who killed it and …. them …. for hours long 🙂
since there was no update for the v3 shedder at the end, we started designing a new update.
There is as said already since long the 32 mm hexbar version which received a thousand clicks and til today it’s still our standard.
However, it turned out that the long knifes are not really needed and waste just too much energy, not to…[Read more]
just to update links and media :
Source files for this machine are now on Github. Since this seems a popular machine now being copied all over (see other community member versions here on the new bazar as well), I also made a little video illustrating the problems and difficulties when making this machine on Youtube. However, there still some…[Read more]
